Deepshikha VermaNew Delhi, Feb. 23 -- Tensions that have been brewing on campus over the Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice-Chancellor's comments regarding the UGC equity rules escalated in the wee hours of Monday when members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and left-wing student groups clashed, leaving several students injured.

The violence reportedly broke out between 1:00 am and 1:30 am, with both sides accusing each other of initiating the confrontation and assault. According to reports, the clash escalated into alleged stone-pelting following an initial scuffle.
