Chandigarh, May 12 -- Wrestler Vinesh Phogat today responded to the show-cause notice issued by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), asserting that she had received permission to resume competition from January 1, 2026, and had not violated any anti-doping or federation rules.

In a social media statement, Vinesh said the WFI had incorrectly interpreted the dates related to her break from wrestling and subsequent return to the sport. She maintained that she was eligible to participate in tournaments and would submit a detailed response along with documentary proof within 14 days.
