New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- Ace wrestler and Julana MLA Vinesh Phogat and Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Bajrang Punia on Monday expressed disappointment after a Delhi court acquitted former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the sexual harassment case filed by women wrestlers.
The two said the legal fight would continue and confirmed that an appeal would be filed in a higher court.
A Delhi court acquitted Brij Bhushan and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar, holding that the prosecution had failed to prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Ashwini Panwar of the Rouse Avenue Courts passed the order after the completion of the trial.
