Chennai, March 18 -- After the censor certification row and legal wrangles, Actor-politician Vijay's swansong film "Jana Nayagan' has encountered a fresh hurdle with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), considering the political content in it, referred the film to the Election Commission of India (ECI) citing enforcement of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the April 23 Assembly lections for further scrutiny.
The CBFC's Mumbai office completed its review on March 17 but flagged the film for its political contents and referred it to the ECI to assess whether it complies with norms, especially in the context of the elections.
