Chennai, June 9 -- In a major relief to 21 of the 25 AIADMK rebels MLAs, who have voted in support of the no confidence motion moved by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on May 13, Legislative Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar on Tuesday said no disquaification proceedings would be initiated against them after they tendered an apology for voting against the directives of the Party Whip.
However, action under anti-defection law has been initiated in respect of other four Rebels, who had subsequently resigned their MLA posts and joined the ruling TVK, Mr Prabhakar told reporters here.
