Chennai, Aug. 31 -- Close on the heels of increasing the milk procurement price by the State-owned Aavin by Rs three, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay on Monday announced an additional Rs three hike for the milk producers, raising it from Rs 41 to Rs.44 per litre.
Making a Statement Under Rule 110 in the State Assembly, Vijay said the decision was taken in deferene to the wishes made by milk producers in the State seeking a higher procurement price in view of the rise in the cost of various inputs for dairy cattle. The additional Rs three hike would benefit 13.16 lakh milk producers cooperative institutions.
