Vijay, Stalin, leaders pay rich tributes to Periyar on his birth anniv

Chennai, Sept. 17 -- Leaders across the political spectrum in Tamil Nadu, including Chief Minister Vijay, DMK President M.K.Stalin, on Thursday paid glowing tributes to social reformer Periyar E.V. Ramasamy on his 148th birth anniversary, highlighting his contributions to social justice, rationalism, self-respect and equality.

Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker JCD.Prabhakar and Ministers garlanded the statue of Periyar at Anna Salai n Chennai city and paid floral tributes to the social reformer.

DMK President M.K.Stalin, Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Udhayanidhi Stlain, accompanied by senior party leaders and former Ministers garlanded the statue of Periyar in the city and also paid rich tributes to his decorated portrait.
