Bengaluru, May 1 -- A video showing an undertrial prisoner allegedly making a video call to his wife from inside Parappana Agrahara Central Prison has gone viral on social media, triggering fresh concerns over security lapses in the jail.
The undertrial prisoner, identified as Akbar, allegedly used a mobile phone inside the prison premises and made a video call to his wife while evading prison authorities. The video reportedly surfaced after his wife shared a screen recording of the call on Instagram.
The incident has sparked outrage, as several cases involving prisoners allegedly using mobile phones, gambling, and participating in parties inside the prison have surfaced in recent years.
