Lucknow/Azamgarh, July 23 -- Alambadi Azmi, a senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and five-time MLA from the Nizamabad assembly seat in Azamgarh, passed away late Wednesday night at the age of 90.
He had been ill for a long time and had been undergoing treatment for the past several months.
According to family members, Alambadi Azmi was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow in April after his health deteriorated. He continued to receive treatment throughout May, June, and July. He died last night at his residence.
The burial of the SP leader will be held at his native village on Thursday.
