Alappuzha, March 4 -- Veteran CPI(M) leader and former Kerala Minister G. Sudhakaran has announced that he did not apply for renewal of his party membership during the 2026 membership scrutiny process, citing prolonged dissatisfaction over his treatment within the party.

Sudhakaran, a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), said in a Facebook post that since he did not submit an application for membership renewal, he was not required to pay the party levy or subscription.

He noted that he had been removed from the state committee in 2022 and has since been functioning as a branch committee member under the Alappuzha District Committee.
