Kolkata, May 13 -- The office of the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Wednesday issued a directive to district election officials across the state, instructing them to verify electoral rolls by identifying voters who are absent, have shifted residence, or are deceased.
According to the memo sent to all District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers have been asked to carry out a detailed review under their respective jurisdictions and initiate the removal of ineligible names from voter lists in line with the Election Commission of India's existing guidelines.
