Bengaluru, July 24 -- The Congress on Friday formally set in motion a sweeping organisational revamp in Karnataka, with the party launching the process to appoint new District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents in what is being seen as the first major restructuring of the organisation after DK Shivakumar assumed office as Chief Minister.
The exercise, announced by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal after a meeting with the Karnataka leadership, is expected to reshape the party's grassroots structure and strengthen its electoral machinery ahead of upcoming local body and Assembly bypolls.
