Varanasi Airport runway closed for two hours due to maintenance, several flights diverted

Varanasi, Aug. 11 -- The runway at Varanasi's Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport was closed for two hours on Tuesday for maintenance work.

As a result, some flights arriving from Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai, and Delhi were diverted to Lucknow and Ayodhya.

According to airport sources, IndiGo flight 6E-6805 from Ahmedabad to Varanasi and flight 6E-2442 from Navi Mumbai were diverted to Lucknow due to the runway maintenance work. Meanwhile, IndiGo flight 6E-5025 from Delhi to Varanasi was diverted to Ayodhya.

Sources said a flight from Ghaziabad was cancelled. Additionally, some other flights scheduled from Lucknow, Ayodhya, and Delhi to Varanasi were halted at their respective airports and will be diverted to Varanasi after the runway m...
