Patna, Aug. 22 -- Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi Saturday said Vande Mataram is not merely a national song but an immortal legacy of India's freedom struggle, patriotism and the sacrifices of millions of Indians, and its historical and national significance cannot be reduced to the calculations of vote-bank politics.
Speaking after the BJP's newly appointed office-bearers passed a resolution on preserving the honour and glorious legacy of Vande Mataram at their first meeting chaired by national president Nitin Nabin, Saraogi welcomed the move and said the first resolution under the new leadership was dedicated to the national song and the sacrifices of freedom fighters associated with it.
