Washington, June 18 -- US Vice President JD Vance said Thursday that he does not know the exact value of Iranian assets that could eventually be released under the terms of the US-Iran peace agreement, but suggested that total may very well exceed $100 billion.
"The amount of money, I honestly don't know," Vance told reporters during a White House briefing. "I've heard numbers north of $100 billion. I've heard numbers north of $200 billion."He said calculating the figure is difficult because most of the assets are held outside the US.
"Most of it is not in US accounts. Most of it is either in the Gulf, in Europe or somewhere else. I don't know the exact amount, but it's a lot," he said.
