New Delhi, June 11 -- Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday virtually inaugurated a 20 kW Akashvani FM Transmitter at Ramgarh in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district, describing the project as a significant step towards strengthening communication infrastructure in border areas and expanding broadcasting services from "Kashmir to Kutch".
The transmitter was inaugurated from the Akashvani Jaipur premises and is expected to enhance radio coverage across a large swathe of the border region. With the commissioning of the new facility, the number of FM transmitters in Rajasthan has risen to 39.
