Kalaburagi, March 8 -- India's Vaishnavi Adkar clinched the singles title at the ITF W35 Kalaburagi with a determined 7-6(3), 6-4 victory over compatriot Ankita Raina in the final here on Sunday.
Playing on International Women's Day, Adkar delivered a composed performance in a closely fought all-Indian final to lift the title. The win earned her 35 WTA ranking points and prize money of USD 4,860. Raina finished runner-up and received USD 2,637 along with 23 ranking points.
"It was a very good week for me. The conditions were very tough and I feel proud that I was able to push till the last match in these conditions," Adkar said after the victory.
