Nahan, June 27 -- The dispute between the Nihang Sikhs and local residents in Uttarakhand appears to be calming down. The Uttarakhand administration held a peace meeting with the Nihang Sikhs at the historic Gurudwara Paonta Sahib, in Sirmaur district. The meeting was largely successful.
The administration has persuaded the Nihang Singhs to refrain from traveling to Uttarakhand over the issue, promising to address all their demands within two days.
The Nihang Sikhs will now wait and maintain peace at Gurudwara Paonta Sahib to press their demands.
