Prithviraj SinghDehradun, Sept. 2 -- Only 26 of the more than 400 registered madrasas in Uttarakhand have sought affiliation with the state Minority Education Authority that came into force on July 31. The Uttarakhand government has started taking action against madrasas not seeking affiliation with the authority.

Even as the Uttarakhand government has started legal action against registered madrasas not seeking affiliation to the State Minority Educational Institutions Authority, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed recognition certificates to the 26 madrasas on Wednesday.
