Dehradun, Sept. 12 -- Former chief minister of Uttarakhand and veteran Congress leader, Harish Rawat, today offered to resign from the party following raids by Enforcement Directorate at his aide's house on Friday.
Rawat however denied media reports that he has tendered his resignation.
"At this stage, I will never want any action of Harish Rawat to cause any harm to the party's struggle. Therefore I have taken a big decision remembering my Ishta Devta (family deity). Being a member of Uttarakhand PCC executive body and permanent invitee to the Congress Working Committee, I would like to humbly step down from both these positions so that party's battle is not weakened," Rawat said in his social media post.
