Lucknow, Aug. 2 -- Uttar Pradesh has emerged as India's largest mushroom producer, recording an output of 51,000 metric tonnes in 2024-25, accounting for nearly 13 per cent of the country's total production, as the Yogi Adityanath government stepped up support for high-value horticulture crops to boost farmers' incomes.
This achievement is the result of the hard work of farmers, to increased adoption of modern farming techniques, government subsidies and a sustained push towards high-value horticulture.
