Washington, May 5 -- The US military carried out a lethal strike on a vessel in the Caribbean Sea, killing two individuals described as suspected "narco-terrorists," even as Washington remains engaged in the Iran conflict.

According to the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), the operation was conducted on May 4 under the direction of Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan. Officials said Joint Task Force Southern Spear targeted a boat allegedly linked to designated terrorist organisations and moving along known drug-trafficking routes. No U.S. personnel were injured in the strike.

The latest action is part of an ongoing campaign launched in September by the Trump administration against what it terms "narcoterrorism" in Latin America.
