Washington, Sept. 3 -- The relocation of the US Space Command headquarters from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, is moving ahead rapidly, with the command expecting its Alabama workforce to reach 200 by the end of this year and half of its staff to be based there by 2028.
President Donald Trump announced the relocation on September 2, 2025. A year into the transition, more than 140 uniformed and civilian personnel assigned to the headquarters are working from three facilities at Redstone Arsenal.
USSPACECOM Commander Gen. Stephen Whiting said the expansion was proceeding at a sustained pace.
