Tehran/ Washington, June 7 -- Amidst Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi's visit to Tehran for a new round of diplomatic talks, tensions have escalated further in Persian Gulf as the US military downed two more Iranian drones today.
The drones were said to have been threatening international maritime traffic in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. This came a day after US forces shot down four other Iranian attack drones launched toward the same waterway.
"Earlier today, US forces in the Middle East shot down two Iranian one-way attack drones that threatened international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. American forces remain postured and ready to continue defending against Iranian aggression," CENTCOM said.
