Lima, Sept. 11 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for a new era in relations between the United States and Peru, saying Washington is prepared to support President Keiko Fujimori's government on security while expanding trade and investment between the two countries.
Speaking at an American Chamber of Commerce Peru event at the Museo de Arte de Lima, Rubio said "security and stability" must be the foundation for economic growth, warning that organised criminal groups are increasingly operating across national borders in South America.
