Riyadh/Washington, July 1 -- The US-Saudi relations have deteriorated sharply in recent months following Washington's decision to launch a full-fledged war against Iran, according to a West Asian intelligence official cited by The Wall Street Journal.
As per the WSJ report, Riyadh had strongly opposed the conflict from its very beginning, warning that any attempts to weaken or topple Iran's leadership could trigger regional instability, disrupt energy supplies and lead to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which is exactly what happened in the end.
