Washington, Aug. 7 -- The Trump administration announced fresh sanctions targeting "enablers of the Cuban regime's arms imports and foreign military cooperation", designating five Cuban entities and eight individuals accused of procuring military equipment and strengthening Havana's defence ties with Russia and China.
In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described Cuba as a "state sponsor of terrorism" that allegedly uses its military and intelligence apparatus to spy on the United States, support violent extremist groups, suppress domestic dissent, and facilitate operations by US adversaries, including Russia, China and Iran.
