Chennai, May 1 -- In a major achievement, a total of 657 antique artefacts stolen from India and valued at about USD 14 million, were returned to the people of India by the USA authorities.

The antiquities were recovered thanks to detailed probe intothe criminal trafficking networks, including those linked to notoious antiquity trafficker Subhash Kapoor and Nancy Wiener.

In an official statement, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg announced the return of 657 antiquities collectively valued at nearly USD 14 million to the people of India.
