Washington, April 30 -- US President Donald Trump is set to receive a fresh military briefing on Iran today, as options for renewed actions against Iran are expected to return to the forefront amid stalled diplomatic efforts, reports Axios.

The briefing reportedly signals Trump's seriousness over considering resuming major combat operations either to try to break the logjam in negotiations or to deliver a final blow before ending the war.

The briefing will be led by CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper, and is expected to present a range of operational scenarios, with chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine also expected to attend.
