Washington, July 11 -- A sweeping bipartisan housing package was turned into law in the US after President Donald Trump declined to sign the legislation, citing frustration over the Senate's failure to advance another GOP backed bill known as the SAVE America Act.

The measure, known as the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, automatically took effect at midnight on Saturday under constitutional provisions allowing for the legislation to be passed by Congress and become law if a president neither refuses to sign nor vetoes it within ten days.
