Srinagar, April 19 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police today detained a United States national at Srinagar International Airport after he was allegedly found carrying a Garmin GPS device and a satellite communicator, officials said.
According to sources, the foreign national was intercepted during routine security checks, and the electronic devices in his possession raised suspicion, prompting his detention for further questioning.
An accompanying individual-an Indian-born US citizen-was also questioned but was later set free after preliminary verification, officials added.
