Washington, June 6 -- The US National Capital Planning Commission has approved plans for the Great Triumphal Arch in Washington, DC, President Donald Trump said.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump thanked the commission for its 8-1 vote in favor of the project.
"A very big THANK YOU to the National Capital Planning Commission on the 8-1 approval of the Great Triumphal Arch to be built at the base of the Arlington Memorial Bridge, which has been waiting for this structure for over 200 years. When completed, it will be, without question, the Greatest Arch of them all!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In mid-April, the US Commission of Fine Arts approved the 166-foot arch with golden statues of Lady Liberty and two bald eagles atop the structure...
