Washington, Sept. 24 -- The Trump administration has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the Group of 20 summit to be held in Miami in December.
"We've invited President Putin to the G20," Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters Wednesday at a press conference on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
"We think it's an opportunity for him to engage not just with the president but with other world leaders," he said. "We hope that's an invitation he'll accept. There's an opportunity in December if that happens."The G20 summit will take place at the president's golf resort, Trump National Doral Miami, from Dec. 14-15.
