Chennai, Sept. 21 -- The US-based coffee giant Starbucks today signed a MoU with the Tamil Nadu government for setting up itsfirst Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai, creating high-paying employment opportunities for around 800 technology professionals.
The company signed the MoU was signed with Guidance Tamil Nadu in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay at an event organised bythe Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Department at the State Secretariat, an official release said.
This will be Starbucks' first global capability centre in India. The centre will operate independently of Tata Consumer Products, the company's retail business partner in India.
