Washington, June 28 -- The United States, Japan and South Korea agreed to strengthen cooperation to counter North Korea's "cyber-enabled revenue generation activities, including cryptocurrency theft, money laundering and fraudulent information technology worker schemes," the U.S. State Department said on Friday.
Officials from the three countries met in Washington under the Trilateral Diplomatic Working Group on DPRK Cyber Threats to coordinate responses to what they described as growing cyber threats posed by North Korea.
The delegations reaffirmed their commitment to the complete denuclearisation of North Korea and to cutting off sources of revenue that could support Pyongyang's prohibited weapons and ballistic missile programmes.
