Washington, Sept. 3 -- The United States and Australia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening defence cooperation, with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles warning that the global strategic environment is becoming increasingly challenging.
The two leaders met at the Pentagon as the United States and Australia marked the 75th anniversary of their formal alliance.
Hegseth and Marles underscored the need for closer military coordination, joint planning and greater alignment of defence capabilities as strategic threats continue to grow.
