Bengaluru, March 26 -- The Karnataka government on Thursday said that the Centre has not yet issued a notification for Upper Krishna irrigation project, adding that BJP MPs should also take steps to expedite the process.
The state has already allocated Rs 3,000 crore for land acquisition, and measures are underway to carry out the process.
"The central government has not yet issued a notification for the Upper Krishna project. Even BJP MPs should try to get the notification issued," he said.
Highlighting the state's compensation package, officials said under the "Consent Award" system, Rs 40 lakh has been fixed for irrigated land and Rs 30 lakh for dry land. Additional funds will be provided in the supplementary budget. Clearance for the...
