Lucknow, Aug. 17 -- A new batch of Assistant Environmental Engineers and Assistant Scientific Officers began their careers with the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board on Monday, as an 18-day induction training programme opened at the Urban Training and Research Institute, Lucknow.

The programme will continue till September 03.

UP State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change K.P. Malik inaugurated the session, informing the recruits that they now carry the responsibility of protecting the state's environment and biodiversity on behalf of a population of 25 crore.
