Lucknow, July 12 -- After three days of good rainfall in Uttar Pradesh, there are signs that the monsoon's momentum is slowing down.

According to the Meteorological Department, the rainfall activity will weaken across most parts of the state starting Sunday, with activity largely confined to the eastern Terai districts for the time being.

In view of this, a 'Yellow Alert' for heavy rain has been issued for 13 eastern Terai districts for Sunday.

Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre in Lucknow, stated that the depression formed over the Bay of Bengal has weakened into a low-pressure area.
