Lucknow, Sept. 7 -- Uttar Pradesh has established a strong presence across the country in the field of clean air.
In the Central Pollution Control Board's Clean Air Survey 2026, Lucknow secured the first position in the country by scoring 198 out of 200 points in the category of cities with a population of over 1 million.
The capital achieved this feat, surpassing cities like Indore and Jabalpur.
A senior official said here on Monday that the state's achievements were not limited to Lucknow.
In the same category, Agra ranked fourth, Ghaziabad ninth, Kanpur 11th, and Prayagraj 13th. Thus, five cities from Uttar Pradesh were included in the top 15 largest cities in the country.
