Lucknow, Aug. 12 -- The Uttar Pradesh government's crackdown on land mafias and illegal encroachments on public properties has yielded significant results, with more than 84,005 hectares of land, approximately 2.08 lakh acres, freed from illegal occupation over the past nine and a half years, according to the Revenue Department.

Along with freeing land from illegal encroachments, the campaign has been further expanded by resolving complaints, pursuing cases, and taking criminal action against identified land mafias. These actions over the past year have clearly demonstrated the Yogi government's commitment to combating land mafias.
