Lucknow, May 9 -- The weather in Uttar Pradesh took an unexpected turn in the first week of May with unseasonal rain, and between May 1 and 7, the state recorded 730% more rainfall than normal.
According to the Meteorological Department, the state received 27.4 mm of rainfall during this period, compared to the normal 3.3 mm.
Unseasonal rain and persistent cloud cover led to a significant drop in temperatures across the state, and many cities were poised to break the previous May minimum temperature records.
