Lucknow, March 26 -- Police in Uttar Pradesh will now take strict action against individuals who file false cases or provide misleading information in First Information Reports, following fresh directives issued by Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna today.

The DGP has instructed all police officials across the state that if facts mentioned in an FIR are found to be false during investigation, those responsible for providing incorrect information or giving false testimony must face legal action. He emphasized that negligence in such matters will not be tolerated.
