Lucknow, March 30 -- The Uttar Pradesh government carried out a major reshuffle in the police department today, transferring 27 IPS officers in a move aimed at strengthening law and order across the state.

The list includes one Inspector General (IG)-rank officer and 26 Superintendent of Police (SP)-rank officers. Police chiefs in 13 districts have been changed.

As per the official order, SPs of Bahraich and Rampur have been shifted to the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC). Dr. Diksha Sharma has been transferred from Hamirpur to Lucknow Commissionerate.

Following the retirement of Rajesh Saxena, Chandra Prakash has been appointed as IG in the Security Headquarters. He was previously posted in the Training Directorate.
