Lucknow, Aug. 18 -- The Uttar Pradesh Home Department has submitted the Special Investigation Team's (SIT) final report to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Teerth Kshetra Trust, along with the necessary action steps, in the Ayodhya offerings theft case.
This report was prepared by the SIT formed before the Supreme Court's intervention in the matter and submitted to the government. The SIT was formed by the state government on June 13 at the Trust's request.
The three-member SIT, headed by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, included IG Range Kiran S. and Special Secretary (Finance) Neel Ratan Kumar as members. The SIT submitted its preliminary report to the government on June 23, making several strong recommendations.
