Lucknow, July 20 -- The Uttar Pradesh government's vehicle scrapping policy is proving effective in promoting road safety, environmental protection, and modern transportation.

Since the implementation of the policy, by June 30, over 1.85 lakh private and over 10,000 government vehicles have been scrapped through authorized scrapping centers in the state. To date, a total of over 1.95 lakh old and unusable vehicles have been scientifically disposed of in the state.

The Uttar Pradesh government has made the entire vehicle scrapping process technology-based, transparent, and easy. Currently, 101 Registered Vehicle Scraping Facilities (RVSFs) have been registered in the state, of which 50 are fully operational.
