Lucknow, Sept. 8 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has taken strict action against those found negligent in the timely disposal of pending cases in revenue courts.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Revenue Council has suspended five tehsildars with immediate effect, while show-cause notices have been issued to 13 tehsildars and naib tehsildars. Disciplinary action has also been initiated against the officials.

According to a statement issued by the government, on September 7, the Revenue Council conducted a tehsil-wise and officer-wise review of the disposal of cases filed under Section 34 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006, in all revenue courts across the state.
