UP cracks down on black marketing of LPG, fuel; over 23,000 raids conducted
Lucknow, April 8 ( UNI) In a clampdown against hoarding and black marketing of cooking gas, petrol and diesel, the Uttar Pradesh government has carried out 23,250 raids and inspections since March 12, leading to 238 FIRs, officials said on Wednesday.Among the cases, 27 have been registered against LPG distributors and 211 against other individuals, official sources said, adding 22 suspects have been arrested on the spot and prosecution initiated against 249 individuals.The government maintaned that petrol and diesel supply in the state is completely normal and that there is no shortage, adding that 12,888 petrol pumps are operational across the state.Currently, the state has an adequate stock of 92,000 kiloliters of petrol and 1.22 lakh kil...
