Lucknow, May 18 -- As Uttar Pradesh sharpens its focus on connecting younger generations with culture and heritage, students turned out in large numbers at Lucknow University on Monday for International Museum Day 2026 events centred on archaeology, history and preservation awareness.

The event was jointly organised by the Uttar Pradesh Directorate of Archaeology and the Department of Ancient Indian History and Archaeology at Lucknow University, showcasing the state's rich archaeological legacy through curated exhibitions and academic sessions. The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Dr S N Kapoor.
