Varanasi, July 17 -- A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday for a Rs 58 crore project to conserve and revive the ancient water sources of the religious and cultural city of Kashi, located in Uttar Pradesh.
Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), various ponds, tanks, and community wells in Varanasi will be rejuvenated and developed. The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Center.
Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari said that Kashi's cultural and religious heritage is linked to its ancient ponds, tanks, and wells.
